Transforming Land Policy and Advice

About the Opportunity

This three-year Fixed Term VPS7 role is a leadership position that requires strategic vision and expertise in land administration, policy development, and reform.

As the Director of Government Land Policy and Advice, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver key organisational outcomes, including complex projects, evidence-based policy development, assessments, data management, and spatial analysis and mapping services relating to land in Victoria.

You will be responsible for fostering an inclusive and high-performing workforce that is outcomes-driven, client-focused, collaborative, and professional. Your strong relationships with stakeholders across government, including the Land Coordinator General, Development Victoria, Homes Victoria, and various Victorian Government departments and agencies, will be essential in achieving this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and reforms to improve the use of government land, aligning with state-wide objectives and strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects, leveraging expertise from diverse disciplines.
  • Oversee the management and analysis of data to inform decision-making, ensuring accurate insights drive strategic advice.
  • Nurture partnerships with external stakeholders, promoting collaborative approaches to achieve shared goals.
Requirements
  • Proven expertise in land legislation, policy, and administration, with a deep understanding of the Victorian context.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing teams, driving organisational outcomes through effective collaboration and communication.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline would be highly regarded, but not mandatory.
