About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Indigenous Affairs strategy. As the Head of Indigenous Affairs, you will be responsible for driving strategic development, design, and implementation of all Indigenous Strategic priorities.
You will be accountable for Reconciliation Action Plan deliverables and initiatives, as well as supporting Social Procurement activities during work winning and throughout project delivery phases.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive Indigenous Affairs strategy, including the Reconciliation Action Plan
- Design and implement Cultural Competency Policy and framework
- Ensure cultural training for Directors and Senior Executives
- Support work winning teams by preparing and developing Aboriginal Participation strategies and plans
- Provide guidance and support with community engagement strategy
- Develop and implement Indigenous Recruitment, development, and Retention Policies, processes, and guidelines
- Develop targeted programs and initiatives to increase Indigenous representation across the workforce
- Manage and lead engagement with Indigenous Businesses and Suppliers, Industry partners, company members, and clients
- Accountable for Indigenous reporting requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within construction or a related industry
- Strong understanding of current government policies and requirements specific to Social Procurement and Workforce Inclusion
- Experience in developing and delivering inclusive strategies
- Strong experience in dealing with Indigenous businesses and/or social enterprises
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to problem-solve and develop creative solutions
- Strong ability to work with local community groups, support services, and key stakeholders
