About this Role
We are seeking a skilled Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with participants to support them in accessing and participating in their community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support participants to engage in community, social, and recreational activities as per their goals.
- Encourage skill development in areas such as communication, travel training, budgeting, and social interaction.
- Promote inclusion and independence through meaningful community engagement.
- Support clients with transportation to and from activities or appointments (as needed).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant progress and support provided.
- Work collaboratively with participants, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality support.
- Follow individualised support plans, risk assessments, and organisation policies and procedures.
- Report concerns about a participant's well-being to the relevant supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or similar qualification.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of professional boundaries, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work across various shifts including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
