We are seeking a qualified School Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team. As an integral part of the school community, you will provide counselling and psychological assessment services that complement the work of teachers.
About the Role- Our ideal candidate will have experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
- They will also possess expertise in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
- Additionally, they will have demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve the learning and wellbeing outcomes of children and young people from diverse backgrounds and needs.
The successful candidate will receive regular individual professional supervision with the Senior Psychologist Education and participate in group and peer supervision as a member of the broader district school counselling team. They will also have access to regular opportunities for continuing professional development and support to complete or maintain registration with the relevant professional board.
About Our TeamOur school is a comprehensive institution catering to approximately 617 students, including around 46% Aboriginal students. We have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy improvement, as well as academically talented programs for students across all key learning areas. A student wellbeing structure exists within the school to support our students, and we work closely with external agencies to provide extra opportunities and support for students.
