As a Senior Business Engineer at Commonwealth Bank, you will play a critical role in driving the architecture, design, build, and governance roadmap across the group for various workflow technologies.
Working closely with the Principal/Lead Business Engineers and Product Owner, you will define the product vision and feature roadmap, and be part of a squad to execute the roadmap and support the products that are delivered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing business analysis services and specialist support for the Workflow Crew
- Gathering and documenting information, conducting analyses of business needs through elicitation and management of business, functional, and non-functional requirements
- Liaising and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the organisation, and to recommend solutions that enable the organisation to achieve its goals
- Completing and overseeing project work stream deliverables, including quality control and sign-off for the area of accountability
- Providing ongoing assistance to support teams for functionality released into production
- Working closely with stakeholders and change management to identify impacts to business processes as a result of system or application changes
- Identifying project delivery issues and risks, assisting with mitigation strategies, and escalating where necessary
- Evaluating the effectiveness of solution delivery (SDLC) tools, processes, and methodologies, and making recommendations for continuous improvement
- Analysing and documenting business/functional processes and requirements using standard analysis methodologies and tools
- Converting business needs into functional designs using knowledge of system capabilities, rules, and architecture
We're looking for someone with:
- A risk mindset, with the ability to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks
- Experience working as a Business Engineer in case management solutions/workflow automation projects
- Strong technical skills, including experience with Pega OOTB features, journey-centric methodologies, integrations, cloud hosting, and design and building of reusable components
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team
- Experience using Jira and Confluence, as well as data analysis, modelling, and workflow design
- Experience working in an Agile project environment
- Certified Pega Business Architect (preferably version 7 or later)
- Pega Technical Background (certified as CSA)
