Cowra Health Service is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Specialist to join our team as a FIFO role for the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the emergency department and providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Cowra Health Service is a 32-bed hospital located in the heart of the Lachlan Valley, offering a unique opportunity to work in a rural setting with access to modern facilities and equipment. Our hospital provides a range of medical services, including emergency care, general medicine, surgery, and obstetrics.

As a FIFO CMO, you will have the opportunity to work on a rotational basis, ensuring that you have time to rest and recharge between shifts. This arrangement allows you to balance your work and personal life while still delivering high-quality patient care.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive salary of $17,400 per week, paid from Monday to Friday. In addition to your base salary, you will also receive benefits such as travel, accommodation, and car provided, allowing you to focus on your work without worrying about the logistics of relocation.

Job Description

As a FIFO CMO, your primary responsibility will be to lead the emergency department and provide expert care to patients presenting to the hospital. Your duties will include:

  • Leading the emergency department team and making key decisions regarding patient care
  • Providing high-quality emergency care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have:

  • Australian working rights
  • Full AHPRA registration
  • PGY5+ with extensive emergency medicine experience
