
Violence Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team as a Violence Prevention Specialist. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in supporting individuals affected by family, domestic, and sexual violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and support to practitioners responding to high-risk cases.
- Mentor staff through reflective conversations, promoting professional growth and development.
- Support practitioners in navigating complex situations, including risk assessment and safety planning.
- Review and approve financial support packages and referrals to ensure best-practice service standards.
- Model calm and professional practice during high-pressure scenarios.
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Mental Health, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling/Psychotherapy (or equivalent).
- Registration or accreditation with at least one of the following:
- Australian Counselling Association (ACA) – Level 4
- Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) – Clinical Registration
- Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – General or Clinical Registration
- Minimum 4 years' experience in FDSV services, including direct client support and safety planning.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, risk assessment, and safety planning for high-risk cases.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
