About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team as a Violence Prevention Specialist. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in supporting individuals affected by family, domestic, and sexual violence.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance and support to practitioners responding to high-risk cases.
  • Mentor staff through reflective conversations, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Support practitioners in navigating complex situations, including risk assessment and safety planning.
  • Review and approve financial support packages and referrals to ensure best-practice service standards.
  • Model calm and professional practice during high-pressure scenarios.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Mental Health, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling/Psychotherapy (or equivalent).
  • Registration or accreditation with at least one of the following:
    • Australian Counselling Association (ACA) – Level 4
    • Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
    • Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) – Clinical Registration
    • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – General or Clinical Registration
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in FDSV services, including direct client support and safety planning.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, risk assessment, and safety planning for high-risk cases.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
