About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our team as a Leading Hand. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance personnel and ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of maintenance personnel to perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with Thiess' servicing, lubrication, and maintenance systems documentation
  • Sourcing technical information and interpreting schematics to diagnose and repair equipment
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards and ensuring a safe working environment
  • Undertaking quality work and ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard
  • Stepping up and covering for the Maintenance Supervisor in their absence
  • Maintaining radio communications for shift activities

About You

We are looking for a candidate with relevant trade qualifications and experience working as a leading hand in the maintenance field on an operational mine. You will also have post-trade operational mine site experience and be proficient in computer systems, including JDE. Additionally, you will have experience with oil analysis and interpretation, OEM computer-based systems, and heavy earth moving equipment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant trade qualifications
  • Experience working as a leading hand in the maintenance field on an operational mine
  • Post-trade operational mine site experience
  • Experience in general service, maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs, and proper diagnostics
  • Computer system JDE
  • Oil analysis and interpretation
  • OEM computer-based systems
  • Experience with CAT, Komatsu, and Hitachi heavy earth moving equipment
