Teller Role

Responsibilities
- Deliver superior customer service, including maintaining eye contact, greeting customers, thanking them by name, showing genuine interest and a willingness to assist, displaying positive body language and tone, making friendly comments and ensuring customer needs are met.
- Execute and document counter transactions as outlined in the teller habit pattern.
- Determine acceptability of negotiable items and member identification.
- Identify and address customer queries and concerns to provide solutions.
- Listen for cues to identify potential sales opportunities. Refer to relevant staff members or open products/services as necessary.
- Assist with lobby management to ensure customers receive timely assistance and feel welcome.
- Maintain cash drawer balances within guidelines established by our institution.
- Be able to assist or lift 50-pound bags of coins. Stand for extended periods as required (up to four hours at a time).
- Perform any additional tasks as required by senior management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and prioritise work effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and individually to consistently meet and exceed set goals.
- Proficient in counting cash, arithmetic, ten-key and basic computer skills.
- Demonstrate high levels of customer service, sales, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, motivation to achieve set goals, organisational and self-management skills.
Benefits
- High School graduate or GED required.
- A minimum of 6 – 12 months prior Teller experience within a financial institution, retail sales or a customer service position involving cash handling experience required.
- Bilingual skills highly desirable.
