Network Solutions Specialist

This is a Permanent Full-Time position based in Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane.

Job Summary

The Network Solutions Specialist designs, delivers, and maintains network solutions, ensuring deployments align with policies and standards. This role plays a key part in securing the infrastructure through operational support for AEMO's highly available critical network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed network designs based on high-level architecture and roadmaps.
  • Lead the implementation of network builds and transition to operational standards.
  • Produce as-built documents aligned with detailed network designs, documenting processes, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with market audits.
  • Provide support for network business-as-usual operations, including incident, change, and service management.
  • Recommend technology integrations without impacting highly available systems, aligning with AEMO's IT strategy and security frameworks.
  • Maintain network monitoring and alerting systems. Assist project teams to deliver infrastructure for technology projects on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop and implement services, resolve issues, and rotate through a 24 x 7 on-call roster for after-hours incident management.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in data centre technology environments.
  • Strong expertise in WAN, LAN, collaboration, security, and internet technologies, with proven capability working in high availability system environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management and quality assurance systems.
  • Hands-on deployment and operational experience with data centre network infrastructure, voice gateways/SBC/Unified Communications platforms, next-gen firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Enterprise voice and video-conferencing platforms, Windows and ESX environments, NSX networks, cybersecurity approaches, and technologies.
  • Experience in automation and programming/scripting skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in computing and IT or equivalent.
  • Recognised professional certification in Cisco, F5, Palo Alto Networks, or other network technologies.
