We are seeking a skilled Technical Operator to join our clients expanding team at their Coalville site. As a Technical Operator, you will be responsible for operating bespoke machines, performing quality control, and conducting technical cleaning of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain bespoke machines for reusable packaging.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure products meet company specifications.
- Conduct technical cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair and refurbish components used in the machines.
- Maintain and manage tools and toolboxes to ensure efficient production.
- Keep the production workshop clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on automated production lines to minimize downtime.
- Provide holiday and absence cover as needed to ensure seamless production.
- Uphold high standards of health and safety practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Foster good communication and teamwork across shifts to ensure effective collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with external software support to resolve technical issues.
- Actively seek and share productivity improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
- Train others as required to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Demonstrate flexibility to cover additional shifts for holidays, absence, and training.
- Fulfill any other reasonable requests from directors, managers, or shift leaders to ensure a smooth operation.
Requirements
- Electrical/Mechanical experience is advantageous, but not required.
- Experience with pneumatic maintenance is a plus.
- Strong analytical and basic computer skills are essential.
- Proficient IT skills are required.
- Ability to read diagrams, technical drawings, and manuals is necessary.
- Skilled in fault-finding to the component level is essential.
- Understanding of production planning to ensure smooth production flow is required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and face-to-face communication skills are necessary.
- Strong time management and interpersonal relationship skills are essential.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a keen eye for detail is required.
- Minimum of 3 years as a Machine Technician is required.
