The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is a world-class specialist hospital in eye and ear care, providing services across Victoria. It is Australia's only specialist eye, ear, nose, and throat hospital, offering comprehensive care for the senses for over 160 years.

Our services include almost 90 different outpatient clinics for diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of vision and hearing loss, as well as a 24-hour emergency eye and ear, nose, and throat service.

We care for nearly 200,000 patients every year, with over 136,000 outpatients, 42,000 emergency patients, and 14,000 inpatients.

About the Role

This role offers the opportunity to join our Acute Ophthalmology Service, Surgical Ophthalmology Service (outpatient clinics and operating theatres), and specialist Emergency Department on a sessional basis.

As a senior medical staff member, you will provide effective, efficient, and timely patient-centred care and on-call services as rostered. You will also supervise, educate, and train junior medical staff, nursing, and allied health staff, observers, and students.

You must be eligible for Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
