Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Officer to join our team at SA Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing general facility maintenance associated with the interior and exterior of our health units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including rubbish collection, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, and grounds maintenance.
  • Select, establish, and maintain simple gardens, including installing and maintaining watering systems and formulating, preparing, and applying herbicides, pesticides, weedicides, or specialty fertilizers.
  • Operate advanced tractor equipment, setting up and calibrating a range of implements to undertake complex grounds functions.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to other employees, including on-the-job training.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in building and grounds maintenance, with practical experience in using a wide range of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, utilizing initiative and judgment to ensure timely completion of tasks and activities as directed.
  • Sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and Welfare acts relevant to a maintenance role.
  • Willingness to work as a cooperative team member.
