This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced professional to work as a Senior Landfill Engineer.
- Collaborate with industry leaders on projects, supporting technical growth within the wider team, displaying confidence and high-level project management skills.
- Work alongside experts in landfill engineering, leveraging their expertise and best practices.
- Support the development of junior staff members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement investigations, engineering solutions, and technical reports, utilizing expertise in environmental / contamination management and soil science.
- Provide leadership on various types of projects, including landfill cells, liners, leachate and landfill gas capture and treatment systems, landfill rehabilitation and development, environmental assessment, risk assessment and monitoring.
Requirements:
- Professional qualification in environmental science or engineering.
- Circa 6-12+ years of experience in consulting or similar industry role.
- Proven capability in environmental / contamination management, soil and groundwater remediation, soil science.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player capable of working independently and collaborating with consultants.
- High level understanding of key landfill engineering elements.
- Expertise with Vic EPA expectations and requirements for landfill operators.
- Experience in leading the preparation of engineering designs and/or environmental risk assessments and monitoring programs.
- Experience in leading contaminated land assessments, CAD and GIS an advantage but not a necessity.
