Medical Practitioner Role

Deliver high-quality patient care in a calm and patient-focused environment at residential aged care facilities across Newcastle. You will work within a close-knit clinical team that includes a Registered Nurse to support you during rounds, a consulting Geriatrician for complex case input, a proactive admin team that handles scheduling and paperwork, and an after-hours team to support you so when you finish work for the day, you can really finish work.

Your day will include regular resident reviews, collaborative care planning, and a mix of acute and chronic care management. This is a unique setting that allows medical practitioners to focus on quality over quantity, with no pressure to push through high volumes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care to residents at residential aged care facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with a close-knit clinical team to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Contribute to regular resident reviews, collaborative care planning, and acute and chronic care management.
Requirements
  • AHPRA registration (with no restrictions).
  • Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM, or currently working towards it.
  • Ability to work as a medical practitioner without supervision.
  • Interest in aged care or geriatric medicine.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative approach to working with care teams.
