Security Officer in Hospital Setting

The role of a Security Officer in a hospital setting is critical as they are responsible for the surveillance of client premises and protection of staff, members, and visitors.

Responsibilities include observing and remaining vigilant for signs of crime or disorder, patrolling on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle, orally and physically de-escalating individuals, inspecting security devices and fire control equipment, screening members and clients, and responding to emergencies.

Key qualifications for this position include prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations, a high school diploma or equivalent, being at least 18 years old for unarmed roles, and passing a background investigation and drug screen.
