ICT Infrastructure Design Engineer Job Description

The primary function of this role is to lead ICT infrastructure design projects from inception to delivery. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive design packages, including written reports, drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, and procurement packs.

  • Develop high-quality designs that meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Revit BIM team colleagues, to ensure seamless design coordination and clash detection.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings, customer presentations, and design team gatherings.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality, time, and budget commitments.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, technologies, and best practices to maintain expertise in ICT infrastructure design.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in Engineering, preferably with 2+ years of relevant experience in ICT infrastructure design engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam, with working knowledge of Revit desirable.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and engagement skills to effectively collaborate with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • A strong understanding of building services, network security, power supply, and cooling systems.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
  • Technical ownership of work packages and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to negotiate contracts.
