Agricultural Security Specialist

The role of Biosecurity Officer involves protecting Queensland's agricultural industries and environment from biosecurity risks. This includes conducting field-based activities to monitor and manage these risks, such as surveillance, inspections, and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments of compliance across a range of industry stakeholders, preparing associated documents, and providing technical advice to promote compliance.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to facilitate trade through inspections and certification schemes, while also detecting and managing biosecurity risks.
- Undertaking fieldwork in remote areas and participating in emergency responses, including continuous improvement initiatives.
- Preparing reports, technical advice, and assisting in the preparation of briefs of evidence in cases of serious non-compliance.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of biosecurity principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
