About the Role

The Auxiliary Firefighter is a vital member of our emergency services team, responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents. As an auxiliary firefighter, you will work closely with our experienced firefighters to ensure the safety of people and property across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to fire and emergency incidents as part of a team, working together to achieve a safe outcome.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through participation in community education activities.
  • Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses, ensuring your skills are up-to-date and effective.
  • Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training sessions.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.

We're seeking individuals who possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to think critically and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. As an auxiliary firefighter, you will be committed to ongoing learning and development, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies.

About You

You'll have a passion for serving the community, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations. You'll also have a manual C-class driver's license and be willing to commit to regular training and callouts.
