**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Operations Manager to lead our underwriting team and contribute to the design of new systems, processes, and procedures. This role is responsible for providing professional underwriting and service standards to internal and external customers, developing and implementing operational action plans to deliver quality service standards, and ensuring adherence to company risk, underwriting, and compliance standards.

  • Manage the local underwriting team and contribute to the design of new systems, processes, and procedures with a view to implementing market-leading underwriting and service.
  • Lead the relationship with the relevant assigned broker group and be a key point of contact with the assigned panel of brokers, market-facing where appropriate.
  • Play a leadership role in the SME Underwriting Operations team, collaborate with other Underwriting Operations Managers to ensure the achievement of key growth and profitability targets.

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with project management and/or continuous improvement certification, extensive experience in an operational management/leadership role in a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation, and proven analytical and critical thinking capability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational action plans to deliver quality service standards.
  • Manage workflow processes across the Underwriting team to ensure market-leading customer service, improving and maintaining positive net promoter score results, and driving a customer-centric culture.
  • Facilitate an inclusive and collaborative environment with all Commercial initiatives and programs to build on Allianz People Attributes and ensure diverse thinking and the best outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with project management and/or continuous improvement certification.
  • Extensive experience in an operational management/leadership role in a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
