Job Description:

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live their lives to the fullest. You will provide support and guidance to help them build daily living skills, stay healthy and safe, and maintain connections with their community.

  • You will assist with personal care tasks such as showering, toileting, and continence support, promoting dignity and independence.
  • Assist with safe manual handling using equipment like hoists and transfer aids.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams, families, and colleagues to implement positive behavior support strategies and create inclusive environments.
  • Follow individual care plans to address health needs, including epilepsy and wound care.
  • Administer medication safely and accurately according to medication management plans.
  • Prepare and support mealtimes according to mealtime management plans.
  • Maintain a clean and safe home environment by assisting with light cleaning, laundry, shopping, and other tasks.
  • Enable customers to access community resources, participate in social activities, and enjoy outings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing customer needs.
  • Basic knowledge of disability support principles and practices.
  • First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
