About the Role
AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Legal Team, you will play a critical role in advising on a wide range of transactions for a large multinational engineering consultancy firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and Negotiating Contracts
You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating AECOM's project contracts, including consultancy services agreements, alliance, tender services, SaaS, PM and EPCM agreements, and related ancillary documentation.
Providing Legal AdviceYou will provide ad-hoc legal advice regarding AECOM's project pursuits, including in relation to bid qualification and departure statements, probity and procurement, deal structuring, conflicts management, and other collateral matters arising in connection with its varied business transactions.
Managing Claims and DisputesYou will manage claims and disputes, including judicial and administrative litigation, and drafting or settling internal and external communications with law firms, clients, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in law and admission to practice in Victoria are essential. Ideally, up to 4 years post-admission experience, with a strong understanding of infrastructure projects and government procurement processes.
Skills and ExperiencePrevious experience in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience in a multinational consultant or contractor will be viewed favorably. Demonstrated track record of adding value to a diverse and dynamic business, outstanding verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, and alignment with AECOM's strategic vision of delivering a better world by embracing its key ESG principles.
