Job Overview

CBRE is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems in our data centers, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

About the Role

  • We are looking for a highly skilled individual with experience in maintaining critical & temperature control conditioned environments, including feeders, transformers, generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS systems, battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, air handling units, chilled water systems, fire alarm systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of ticketing or workflow management systems and tools, as well as experience in managing escalation and emergency issues.
  • You will also be required to maintain excellent standards of response to asset performance, completion of assigned work, and ensure any abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues are dealt with proficiently.
  • Your duties will include routine planned preventative maintenance tasks, monitoring BMS for running and alarm conditions, building walk-rounds, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU's and other electrical equipment, investigating faults, identifying root causes, and preparing accurate/timely service/incident reports.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring corrective/repair works are carried out in accordance with current regulations and assist when/where required with equipment installation works and asset data capture.
  • In addition, you will participate in emergency call-out roster providing cover for weekend and team member absences, develop a comprehensive understanding of the building(s) infrastructure and their layouts, functions and complexities, and deliver effective communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to team meetings, briefings, correspondence, monthly and ad-hoc reporting.

Requirements

  • A NSW Electrical License or NSW HVAC/Refrigeration License is required.
  • Experience of maintaining critical & temperature control conditioned environments, detailed understanding and experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including feeders, transformers, generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS systems, battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, air handling units, chilled water systems, fire alarm systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Prior exposure to maintenance scheduling and subcontractor management and supervision.
  • Strong understanding of ticketing or workflow management systems and tools.
  • Experience of managing escalation and emergency issues.
  • Good customer relationship skills.
  • Working knowledge of 'Permit to work' systems.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings/processes.
  • Experience of CMMS and BMS systems.
