Senior Injury Management Specialist

This is a hybrid role that drives our self-insurance business forward.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create strategic plans, identify services and engage with key stakeholders to grow the self-insurance division.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, whilst delivering claims & RTW services.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications and other divisions to enhance brand awareness and leverage opportunities.
  • Deliver staff training, professional development activities and accurate performance reporting.
  • Lead and support various projects.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 7-10+ years of industry experience in injury management, claims or related fields.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Understanding of medical protocols, Work Health and Safety practices and relevant legislation.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, LinkedIn.
  • Analytical skills and preparedness to work with AI tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Disability Discrimination & Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Desirable skills include:

  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of RTW & Claims practices, the Return-to-Work Act 2014 and related standards.
  • Skilled negotiator with experience engaging with senior management, legal, medical and union representatives.
  • Strong understanding of legal principles relevant to injury management, fairness and decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and conduct effective meetings.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
