Temporary Exhibitions Coordinator Job

The Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM) is committed to being a world leader in maritime history. Reporting to the Manager, Touring Programs, you will be delivering exhibitions that serve to educate and entertain existing and new audiences from international, metropolitan, regional, and remote locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Manager, Touring Programs to plan, develop and execute exhibitions strategy that overlays onsite museum activities with touring programs.
  • Project managing and coordinating touring-specific exhibits in different formats for regional distribution.
  • Administering venue bookings, action maintenance needs and arranging freight movements for touring displays.
  • Organising the creation of support documentation for touring exhibitions such as installation manuals, marketing style guides, and maintenance documentation.
  • Connecting with stakeholders to get buy-in, seek feedback, and provide advice and expertise on matters relating to the work.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing project plans, budgets, and contract administration and responding to challenges.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Project management skills, organisational, budget development, time management and scheduling to meet delivery timelines.
  • Strong organisation and administrative and computer skills.
  • Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams with applied knowledge of the roles of curatorial, conservation, design, and registration staff in developing exhibitions.
  • Effective communication and people skills with an ability to present and communicate information to a diverse range of stakeholders within the Arts & Culture sector.
