Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Wall Construction Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in constructing walls using various materials and techniques.

About the Role:

The primary responsibility of this role is to construct walls to the required specifications, ensuring they are safe, durable, and aesthetically pleasing. This involves analyzing building plans, interpreting work orders, and determining the necessary materials for the project.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for erecting and dismantling scaffolding, creating structures using blocks, tiles, boards, and stone, and laying bricks in rows, designs, and shapes. They will embed blocks in mortar, remove excess mortar, strengthen and seal foundations, fasten bricks with wire clamps or cement, and repair building blocks.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and interpreting building plans
  • Interpreting work orders and determining the materials required
  • Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding
  • Creating and maintaining structures, walls, foundations etc using various types of blocks, tiles, boards, and stone
  • Laying bricks in rows, designs and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints
  • Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar
  • Strengthening and sealing foundations with the appropriate material, usually damp-resistant materials
  • Fastening bricks with wire clamps or cement
  • Repairing building blocks
  • Understanding and managing the quantities of material required for the job
  • Using tools such as hand tools, brick-cutting machines but also spirit levels and plumb lines to check building alignment
  • Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Certificate III/IV in Bricklaying or equivalent
  • 1 year of relevant experience
