Research Fellow in Process Control Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Fellow to join our team in the School of Chemical Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in process control engineering, working closely with our experienced researchers and academics.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in process control engineering, with expertise in control theory and machine learning techniques. You will be responsible for conducting independent research on an aspect of our ARC Discovery Project, working collaboratively with our team to achieve project goals.
- Carry out scientific research on an aspect of the ARC Discovery Project;
- Undertake research on control theory and machine learning techniques relevant to the project;
- Collaborate with our team to achieve project goals;
- Contribute to publications and conference activities as appropriate to the project;
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD in Engineering or Mathematics;
- Demonstrated skills and experience with process control and modern control theories, including nonlinear control and stochastic systems theory;
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision;
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students;
- Strong mathematical skills;
- An understanding of and commitment to our values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
This is a fixed-term contract position, lasting 24 months. You will be employed on a full-time basis, with a competitive salary package and opportunities for professional development.
