Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing debtor accounts, issuing invoices and statements, and assisting in the debt recovery process.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Office/Business Administration or equivalent experience in finance/accounts receivable functions. A Class C Drivers Licence and proof of Australian residency or citizenship are also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Issue Accounts Receivable invoices and statements for debtor accounts.
  • Create, review, and maintain debtor accounts to ensure data integrity.
  • Distribute invoices, debtor statements and reports, and reconciliations internally as required, following up with investigation and/or guidance where appropriate.
  • Assist in the debt recovery collection process in accordance with the Debt Recovery policy to facilitate timely payment.
  • Participate in delivering coaching to build awareness and skill of key staff across Council in relation to debt management best practice and the use of supporting systems.
  • Respond to written, telephone, and counter enquiries regarding debtor accounts and debt recovery issues.
  • Investigate credit balances on debtor accounts and, where appropriate, facilitate refunds in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Office/Business Administration or substantial equivalent experience in Finance/accounts receivable functions of a large organisation.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship.
