Job Title: School Psychologist

Role Summary:

The successful candidate will provide psycho-educational and diagnostic services for students in the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education. This includes facilitating transition plans, supporting the inclusion of students with challenging needs, and participating in a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive program plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and diagnose students' educational and emotional needs, providing recommendations for support and accommodations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Provide training and professional development for school staff on evidence-based practices and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students who may require special education services or accommodations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of programs for students with behavioral and mental health needs.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in School Psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of assessment and evaluation tools, as well as instructional strategies and interventions for students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents, educators, and other stakeholders.
