Food Research Engineer/Food Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Food Research Engineer/Food Technologist to join our team at Australia's Food and Beverage Accelerator (FaBA). This fixed-term, full-time position will be based at the St Lucia Campus in Brisbane.

The successful candidate will have experience in food manufacture, processing, and/or development, with specialist technical expertise to support high-quality research outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Applying specialist technical skills or knowledge to research activities, including food and beverage product/ingredient development, processing, manufacture, and/or characterisation.
  • Implementing research results and new knowledge from science and engineering.
  • Assisting in the development and management of research, development, and innovation projects and technologies.
  • Supporting the management of food laboratory operations.

Candidates should possess a relevant degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, with significant experience in a manufacturing/food production environment or relevant research and development experience. Advanced technical capabilities in food processing, development, and/or extrusion processing are highly desirable.
