Job Title: Capability Development Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Capability Development Superintendent to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real impact on our organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of professionals to deliver high-quality results in capability development, people leadership, and performance management. They will work closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize learning needs, develop tailored learning solutions, and lead technical trainers and learning specialists to meet business objectives.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent stakeholder management, engagement, and communication skills, as well as experience in people leadership, performance management, and tactical execution of strategic priorities. You will also need strong data and gap analysis skills, the ability to establish and measure effective cadences with teams, and adaptability and agility in multiple-tasking and context-switching environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals to deliver high-quality results in capability development, people leadership, and performance management.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize learning needs, develop tailored learning solutions, and lead technical trainers and learning specialists to meet business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve learning solutions and relevant initiatives/technology.

Where You'll Be Working:

This role will be offered on a 5 / 2, 4 / 3 FIFO roster from Perth or 5 / 2 residential in Karratha covering our Coastal operations. Rio Tinto owns and operates an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets that include a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure – all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
