About the Role

As a Lead Product Design Manager, you will be responsible for shaping the user experience and overseeing the development of innovative solutions that integrate artificial intelligence.


You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and data science, to drive business outcomes and deliver high-quality results. Your expertise in AI and machine learning will enable you to effectively bridge the gap between human creativity and technical capabilities, ensuring our designs are intuitive, innovative, and impactful.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and mentoring design teams, as well as hands-on experience in leading complex projects that involve integrating new technologies into user experiences. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for this role, as you will need to effectively articulate design concepts and influence decisions with stakeholders and leadership.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design Strategy: Define and drive the design strategy for our core products, ensuring a cohesive and user-centric approach that aligns with business goals. You will help set the standard for how we incorporate AI into our design process and improve workflows and user experiences.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, helping them grow their skills and navigate complex projects. Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and opportunities for development, especially in the context of designing with new technologies.
  • Hands-on Design Leadership: Act as a lead designer on high-priority projects, from concept to launch. You'll be responsible for creating designs and prototypes, ensuring high-quality execution while considering design value framework (DVF) principles.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to translate technical capabilities into intuitive user experiences.
  • User Advocacy: Champion a user-centered design approach, ensuring user insights, research, and data inform all design decisions.
  • Design Excellence: Leverage AI to establish best practices, design systems, and frameworks, promoting consistency and scalability across the platform. Advocate for design value and purpose across the organization and externally to elevate the design team.

Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in product design, with significant focus on or demonstrated interest in AI, machine learning, or similar emerging technologies.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in a management role, with strong ability to mentor and grow a design team.
  • Hands-on Design: Track record of actively contributing to design and leading impactful design initiatives that drove product strategy and business outcomes.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with technical considerations of designing for AI, understanding opportunities and limitations of large language models and other machine learning technologies.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, able to articulate complex design concepts and influence decisions with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, fostering positive and productive environment.

Nice to Have
  • Demonstrated passion for AI space, with evidence of experimentation, personal projects, or contributions within generative AI or coding.
  • Experience designing for SaaS, CRM, or finance product.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Experience managing and mentoring designers.
  • Portfolio demonstrating ability to lead complex projects and integrate new technologies into user experiences.
