Train Installation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Train Installation Specialist to join our team at our Bellevue Site. In this role, you will be responsible for performing mechanical installations to complete the assembly of trains.

The successful candidate will have a certificate III in Engineering or a relevant mechanical trade qualification and experience working in a manufacturing environment. You will also need to be able to interpret technical diagrams and drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and apply technical documentation supplied by the manufacturer.
  • Install and assemble railway vehicle components using standard work procedures and hand/power tools.
  • Perform basic testing and support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical systems and components installed in the train.
  • Use and manipulate lifting and transporting devices such as overhead cranes to install, replace and align subassemblies and components.
  • Perform self-inspection of train components to identify defects and ensure quality.
  • Remove and replace defective parts and components.
  • Proficiently cross-reference technical documents and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Organize work instruction documents, tools and train parts daily.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Trade Certification or Certificate III in Engineering or similar.
  • Experience within the manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams & drawings.
  • High risk tickets or licenses (EWP, working at heights etc) would be advantageous (but not mandatory).
