Job Summary:We are seeking a Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to join our team in the Sunshine Coast Region of Queensland. This role is based at Icon Cancer Centres Maroochydore and Noosa, providing essential support to radiotherapy practices and ensuring high standards of patient care.About the RoleThis is a key opportunity for a Medical Physicist to contribute to a national network of physicists supporting radiation oncology sites nationwide. The successful candidate will be working with state-of-the-art equipment including Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerators and Aria treatment planning system.
  • Provide medical physics support to radiotherapy practices across centres.
  • Perform routine physics tasks, equipment QA, patient-specific QA (e.g., IMRT/VMAT) and treatment planning support.
  • Contribute to a key area of responsibility within the national Medical Physics group.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement physics quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex clinical issues.
  3. Deliver training and education programs to enhance the skills of colleagues.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of physics activities and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Eligible for listing on the ACPSEM register of qualified medical physics specialists in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics. Accredited physicists from the UK, USA or Canada are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to perform routine physics tasks including QA, patient-specific QA and treatment planning support (e.g., IMRT/VMAT).
  • Proven ability to work independently to a high level of scientific achievement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary team.
