The Tactical Skills Training Officer plays a key role in delivering high-quality tactical training to correctional staff. This position is crucial for maintaining standards, ensuring compliance and consistency of our tactical skills programs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver customized tactical skills training programs
  • Establish instructional standards for consistent tactical skills training across the organization
  • Develop performance criteria for course competency in tactical skills
  • Review and report on training/assessment procedures for updates
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure staff receive best-practice training
  • Validate tactical skills training tools per departmental policies
  • Use evaluation feedback to improve the training curriculum
  • Support high standards by training and developing Tactical Skills Instructors
  • Evaluate and guide centre-based tactical skills instructors
  • Consult with stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement
  • Coordinate a training calendar with centre management for compliance
