The Water Management Specialist will be part of a joint venture team responsible for the design and construction of a major pumped hydro scheme in the Snowy Mountains. This project is a significant undertaking that will deliver one of the largest schemes of its kind in the world.

**Job Purpose:** The Water Management Specialist is accountable for ensuring the effective management of site-based water activities, water sampling, and site support to maintain a robust Environmental Management System (EMS). This includes compliance with statutory requirements, client specifications, and company policies.

**Required Qualifications and Skills:**

- Tertiary qualifications in environmental management or a related field
- Valid driver's licence
- White card certification

**Desirable Experience:** A minimum of 1 year's experience working in the construction industry in a similar role would be highly desirable. You should have excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with construction personnel, clients, and stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities:

- Provide advice and support to the dewatering and construction teams to ensure compliance with environmental obligations
- Communicate environmental issues, standards, and procedures regarding surface water, groundwater, and water discharge to reservoirs
- Coordinate environmental water sampling across all sites and associated reporting
- Analyze data and provide critical review for client and stakeholder use
- Implement Environmental Management Strategy, EMPs, and subsidiary systems documentation
- Promote a positive environmental culture focused on achieving success
- Liaise with the area environment team to ensure awareness of arising issues, requirements, and controls
- Represent the team at key construction planning and coordination meetings
- Assist in identifying training requirements
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Environmental Management team to support Project HSSE goals and values
