Lab Management Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, leading a team of technicians in Port Melbourne. The ideal applicant will have extensive experience in construction materials testing and possess a recognized qualification in laboratory management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversight of laboratory personnel working at the Port Melbourne facility.
  • Ensuring efficient operation of the laboratory, with adherence to established testing protocols.
  • Calibration of equipment and maintenance of records.
  • Communicating expectations regarding safety and sustainability within the team through visible leadership.
  • Compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Ensuring technicians are adequately trained and qualified, with up-to-date training records maintained.
  • Scheduling and allocation of internal and external testing services for project conformity.
  • Conducting site visits for quality assurance purposes.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years' experience in construction materials testing - concrete and aggregates.
  • Possession of a recognized qualification in laboratory management or equivalent.
  • Analytical skills to present complex data in a usable format.
  • Proven people management experience.
  • A collaborative and innovative mindset.
  • Excellent organizational and self-motivation skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
