Key Engineering Role: Team Lead and System Architect

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team focused on building scalable event ingestion and processing systems. This role is pivotal in partnering with product, data, and infra teams to ensure accurate, reliable, and impactful systems.

  1. Lead and mentor a team of engineers building the data infrastructure, backend services, and clients to capture and connect behavioural analytics and system telemetry.
  2. Drive the design and evolution of scalable event ingestion and processing systems, ensuring seamless integration across platforms.
  3. Collaborate with teams across product, infra, and data to guarantee systems deliver business value and meet high standards.
  4. Embed privacy-by-design principles into our tracking architecture to maintain customer trust.
  5. Foster a high-performing team through coaching, feedback, and inclusive leadership, empowering them to make data-driven decisions.

This position plays a critical role in shaping the future of data-informed decision-making across the organization by supporting other services of the group, including A/B testing with the foundations and data required.

About You:
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams focused on data platforms and backend infrastructure.
  • A deep understanding of distributed systems, event processing, or analytics pipelines.
  • Ability to coach engineers across both frontend and backend, guiding architecture decisions that drive business outcomes.
  • Passion for empowering others to make informed decisions through reliable and accurate data.
  • Strong communication skills – explaining technical decisions, guiding your team, or aligning with stakeholders.
