  • Carry out vehicle repairs and/or maintenance as per the repair order within the allocated time to Manufacturer's and Dealership requirements and report directly to the Foreman/Workshop Controller/Team Leader whenever this cannot be done.
  • Plan each job for maximum efficiency. Order parts (where necessary) from Parts department immediately.
  • Request assistance from Foreman/Team Leader when diagnosis of problem jobs is required.
  • Follow correct procedures when carrying out warranty work and ensure all warranty parts are tagged immediately with the correct information and placed in warranty storage.
  • Be responsible for the care and use of all workshop tools and equipment, return to correct place and report any faults to management.
  • Correctly complete all works as per standard repair time guide
  • Legibly complete all paperwork correctly with all details regarding works carried out after completion of each job and/or parts ordered.
  • Return vehicles in a clean condition after repairs by removing all plastic, tools and rags from vehicle on completion, use guard covers, seat covers and floor mats at all times.
  • Maintain familiarity with and follow Dealership procedure when obtaining or ordering parts
  • Customer to be contacted if part not available and to be re-booked.
  • Maintain familiarity with Technical Service Bulletins.
  • Suggest training and tooling needs to the Foreman/Service Manager.
  • Keep a complete and up-to-date tool kit.
  • Maintain workbench and bay areas in a clean, safe and orderly and attractive state. As well as clean up any spilt oil, coolant or other chemical immediately
  • Attend Training and or any other trade/TAFE courses to maintain current product related technical information.
  • Provide support to the apprentice technicians as required.
  • Do not smoke in any vehicles, workshop or between jobs, also do not change radio setting in customer vehicles
  • When required technician to road test vehicles.
  • Report extra work required on RO to complete extra work this must be signed off by authorised service personnel before commencement.
  • All parts must be written on RO and authorised by service personnel.
  • All completed jobs must have full stories written on RO
  • Any other duties as required by your manager from time to time.
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics and professionalism as laid down in the Motor Dealers Act and other legislation.
