About our role: Food Service Assistant

  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate the Food Safety Program (FSP).
  • Provide quality food and beverages meeting residents' individual needs and preferences.
  • Assist in menu planning and FSP documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment promoting safe work practices.
  • Support quality review of FSP, including tasks like recording temperatures and receipting goods.

Key Skills:

  • Food Handling Course.
  • Certificate relevant to the role (e.g. Certificate III Hospitality - Commercial Cookery).
  • Current National Police Certificate or ability to acquire.
  • Experience in residential aged care, hospitality or catering.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in meal preparation, serving, presentation, and delivery to residents.
  • Ensure meals meet individual dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Report concerns regarding food and beverages to the Registered Nurse in charge.
