We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our Compliance Branch.
\The role involves monitoring and enforcing compliance with Australia's foreign investment laws, providing assurance of compliance through proactive investigations and other forms of compliance assessment, enforcement action to address non-compliance, and educating foreign investors on the requirements of the foreign investment legislation.
\Responsibilities will include:
\- \
- Undertaking proactive and responsive compliance activities to assess compliance with Australia's foreign investment laws and prevent and detect non-compliance.\
- Investigating potential non-compliance with Australia's foreign investment laws.\
- Using analytical capability and professional judgement to evaluate compliance and recommend effective responses.\
- Conducting initial analysis of compliance reports.\
- Analysing data to identify compliance trends.\
- Assisting in the development of internal guidance and procedures to support best practice compliance operations.\
- Managing concurrent cases, including complex cases, projects or investigations.\
- Interpreting and applying legislation, administrative law principles and regulatory frameworks when assessing complex and specialised issues to make evidence-based recommendations on foreign investment matters.\
- Investigating and delivering regulatory outcomes, including analysing information and data, planning and carrying out investigations, gathering evidence, legal analysis and other enforcement-related processes.\
- Contributing to regulatory risk assessments to identify priorities for compliance operational activity and evaluating outcomes of those compliance activities.\
- Helping to develop and implement policies, procedures and systems to support the lawful administration of the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975.\
- Contributing to various business and process improvement initiatives.\
- Developing strong relationships with stakeholders, collaborating and reconciling alternative positions to achieve timely and robust outcomes.\
- Exercise sound judgment and resilience to achieve objectives in challenging, fast-paced environments.\
- Work independently and use initiative to achieve desired outcomes.\
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.\
- Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking skills to identify issues and potential solutions.\
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.\
- Organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.\

- Qualifications in law, accounting, commerce and/or finance are highly desirable but not essential.\
