Job Title: Data Insights Specialist

Role Overview: We are seeking a Data Insights Specialist to join our finance team in Sydney. This role is critical to ensuring accurate data capture, settlement, and reporting while driving innovation, automation, and business growth through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate and reconcile settlement data for accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor systems and dashboards to investigate anomalies and coordinate resolutions.
  • Design and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical models to support trading and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver system enhancements and reporting improvements.
  • Partner with IT to manage market data feeds, business systems, and reporting tools.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and scalable data solutions.
  • Support regulatory, audit, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Provide backup support for deal capture and settlement operations.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field, with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Strong skills in SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel (Python, R, or SAS a plus).
  • Experience in back office, settlements, or data analysis (energy, utilities, or financial services preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with exposure to cloud platforms advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
