Assembly Technician Wanted

We are looking for a skilled assembly technician to join our manufacturing team.

The role involves precise assembly of complex mechanical components for defence and aerospace applications.

As an assembly technician, you will work collaboratively with the Advanced Machining team to ensure all mechanical fittings are installed and operating to specification.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assembling high precision mechanical components and sub-assemblies
  • Reading and interpreting technical documents, work instructions, and SOPs to produce components to exact specification
  • Working hands-on at a bench, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to assemble components and perform quality control checks
  • Collaborating with stakeholders through participation in Production System daily activities to support safety, quality, cost, delivery, and team culture
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to improve workflow and enhance operational performance

About You:

  • Relevant mechanical trade qualifications (ideally Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade) or proven experience
  • Experience in mechanical assembly, ideally in aerospace or high-precision environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
  • Strong hands-on experience with bearings, bushes & gears
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all work undertaken
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
