About the Role

Our team is seeking a Strategic Category Manager to deliver and implement strategic category management plans across our organisation. This role includes a focus on digital and technology category management planning and implementation, as well as sourcing category strategies to generate sustainable value.

  • We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong stakeholder and supplier management skills, capable of developing and executing category management plans.
  • The successful candidate will have experience managing supply and services contracts, including panel agreements, and proven expertise in category management, contracts, and procurement.
  • This role requires extensive experience building relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive collaborative sourcing strategies.
  • The ideal candidate will also have high-level negotiation and influential skills to facilitate cross-functional team engagement, as well as risk identification and mitigation within the supply chain and procurement processes to ensure business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver and implement strategic category management plans.

Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align sourcing strategies with organisational goals.

Monitor supplier performance against established key performance indicators and address identified issues proactively.

Prepare reports and presentations to inform future strategic plans and provide category management insights.

Cultivate a high-performing supply chain team focused on customer-centricity and innovation.

Establish mutually beneficial partnerships with suppliers to create sustainable value and improve sourcing performance.

Requirements

Degree or direct equivalent experience in Law, Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or related discipline.

Experience managing supply and services contracts, including Panel Agreements.

Proven expertise in category management, contracts, and procurement.

Extensive experience building relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive collaborative sourcing strategies.

High-level negotiation and influential skills to facilitate cross-functional team engagement.

Risk identification and mitigation within the supply chain and procurement processes to ensure business continuity.

The Details

This role can be based in Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary range of $131,265 - $145,850 (inclusive of superannuation), depending on experience.
