HeliMods is a globally recognized leader in aerospace technology, operating from a state-of-the-art facility on Queensland's stunning Sunshine Coast.
Our advanced, purpose-built facility is equipped with a comprehensive range of integrated soft and hard infrastructure, supporting our cutting-edge aerospace capabilities.
We are committed to making significant, lasting contributions to both local and international communities by delivering innovative, world-class aerospace solutions that empower our clients to undertake critical missions, such as emergency medical retrieval, search and rescue, aerial policing, and disaster relief.
Opportunity Overview
At HeliMods, we take pride in supporting our local community, particularly high school students eager to explore careers in aerospace, aviation, design, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
We offer numerous opportunities for our work experience students to engage hands-on during their time with us, including the chance to design a unique item using CAD (Computer Aided Design) and print it on one of our advanced 3D printers, guided by our exceptional engineering team.
Students will also gain insights into our sophisticated manufacturing processes, helping them to better understand potential career paths and relevant high school electives as they prepare for further education.
Expectations for Work Experience Students
The most successful students in our program are those who are curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn as much as possible.
We value good listening skills, a healthy sense of curiosity, a positive attitude, and a proactive approach to any assigned tasks.
We strive to make the experience engaging and rewarding for all students. As a high-performance organization, we often have a busy environment, so we appreciate a respectful understanding that our team members may be managing multiple responsibilities.

Requirements to Proceed
Applicants must:
- Be in year 10 or above.
- Demonstrate a strong passion for aviation, aerospace, design, engineering, and/or manufacturing.
- Obtain permission and necessary documentation from their school.
- Submit a CV as part of their application.
Important Information for Students
- Typical work experience hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Students are required to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and an appropriate shirt (collared for male students).
- Students should bring their own lunch.
