Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions, as well as driving process improvement and contributing to a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate recognition of revenue, including member affiliation revenue, commercial partnership revenue, and grant funding revenue.
  • Review and reconcile fortnightly and monthly payroll, ensuring employment costs are accurately recorded and statutory obligations are met.
  • Prepare and present the draft statement of financial performance, statement of financial position, and cash flow statement to the Financial Controller for review and finalization.
  • Oversee systems, including Access, Pro Spend, Flexipurchase, and Corporate Traveller, ensuring compliance with all statutory taxation matters.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to the Accountant and Accounts Officer.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with annual insurance renewal, audit requirements, and transactional banking activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance with minimum CA/CPA or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar role/team, with a strong track record of financial management and process improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skill level.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and committed to data integrity.
  • Self-initiated, with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Highly accountable and outcome-focused, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
