We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to take on the role of Advanced Disability Support Worker in one of our group homes situated in Melbourne.

This dynamic position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of disability support and advocacy, leading teams with expertise and compassion, and contributing to the advancement of inclusive and equitable practices within the disability community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the day-to-day running of the house from a leadership perspective.
  • To develop planned activities in line with departmental policies and guidelines.
  • Liaise with family members, medical services, departmental services, and external services to help meet client needs.
  • To develop, implement, monitor, and review a range of client support plans, with oversight from senior staff, using knowledge of client need, preferences, and interests.
  • To provide quality direct support to clients in line with their support needs, the program they are accessing, and all support plans including Individual Plans.
  • To administer medication treatments and therapies according to prescribed protocols or otherwise, seek appropriate medical assistance.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • An advanced qualification in disability work or equivalent.
  • A certificate in disability.
  • Demonstrated experience as a senior disability support worker.
  • First aid and current CPR certification.
  • An unrestricted Victorian driver's license.
  • A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disabilities.
