Payroll Operations Lead

About the Team:

Our team is responsible for providing payroll services to government employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple payroll teams located in Paramatta and Goulburn, interacting with internal and external stakeholders, addressing complex queries and escalations that your teams are working on.
  • Provide support to senior leaders, offering insights and advice for decision making on payroll related matters.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing, lead the implementation of process improvements and contribute to major projects such as new client onboardings.
Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end payroll processes, including compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and policy.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop payroll teams.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and system enhancements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, taxation, and reporting obligations.
  • Skilled in SAP payroll system.
  • Experience leading payroll-related projects such as system implementations, restructures, or legislative changes.
  • Commitment to delivering a positive employee experience through responsive, accurate, and empathetic payroll support.
