Job Title: Data Information Specialist

The role of the Data Information Specialist involves validating, transforming and processing complex textual data. This specialist will be responsible for ensuring the UK's digital history remains structured, searchable and usable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Validate, transform and process complex textual data across SQL, JSON and XML-based structures.
  • Work with multidisciplinary stakeholders to gather user requirements and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff.
  • Prioritize tasks, deliver high-quality work to agreed deadlines and commit to developing new skills and sharing expertise with others.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent skills in Python programming language and experience using XSLT technology.
  • Familiarity with pattern analysis and broad knowledge of relevant technologies for encoding, cleansing, manipulating and analyzing complex structured and unstructured data.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, including extracting data from various sources, cleaning, formatting and transforming textual data, and loading transformed data into target destinations or data models.
  • Understanding of data governance practices, including data quality, reference and master data, and data interoperability.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during ETL and data migration processes.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills suitable for working with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
