The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Designer to join our team. As an Industrial Designer, you will be responsible for taking concepts and briefs from clients or account managers and designing for manufacturing. This will include setting up cut files for router or laser cutting and detailing drawings for fabrication. You will be communicating with our in-house manufacturing team as well as our suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design for manufacturing, including setting up cut files for router or laser cutting and detailing drawings for fabrication
  • Communicate with in-house manufacturing team and suppliers
  • Manage client accounts and work on creative concept designs
  • Work on projects individually and as part of a team, contributing to or managing a project from end to end
  • Prepare documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and installation
  • Manage manufacturing and deal with suppliers

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Industrial Design / Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years working experience in Industrial Design / Engineering, or equivalent
  • Design experience in signage point of sale or joinery
  • Proficiency in Solidworks software
  • Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD design with preference to SolidWorks & Autocad software
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and MS Office programs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong ability to work within tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities
